Lucas Testro is an award-winning writer and director based in Melbourne, Australia. Critics have called his work “brash”, “hilarious”, “mind-melting” and “fabulous intelligent, funny & moving”.

He has directed, written and story edited for television drama series Neighbours and Winners & Losers, and his short films for both teen and adult audiences have played at some of the world’s most prestigious film festivals - including Palm Springs International Shortfest, Melbourne International Film Festival, Flickerfest, the Giffoni Film Festival, Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival, Fantasia International Film Festival and San Diego Comic-Con. In 2013, he made his theatre directing debut in 2013 with the critically-acclaimed Melbourne Fringe Festival hit Songs For Europe.

Lucas’s work is distinguished by a love of the special & odd in all of us, a strong command of genre storytelling, and a sensitive exploration of character. He has considerable experience working with children and inexperienced actors to develop true and engaging performances.
